City School of Languages, Swansea is primarily an adult English language school for students aged 18 and older. Although we welcome students aged 16 and above in our main school, it should be noted that we cannot provide 24-hour supervision. If they are not staying with an authorized relative or family friend, 16 and 17 year olds will be required to stay in full-board homestay accommodation.
Parents or guardians of students aged 16 and 17 are asked to read our Notes for Parents and Guardians of students aged 16 & 17 before booking their child to study at City School of Languages. This will help you to understand what to expect when your child comes to study with us.
We have a guide for 16 and 17 year olds which they will be given on their first day. Download the Advice & Emergency Details for Under 18s' guide.
Students aged 16 or 17 who will study with us as adults and are travelling on their own need to be met at the airport of arrival and brought to Swansea.
Parents with children aged 16 or 17 can either book a CSL airport transfer or arrange for their son / daughter to be met by an adult relative or friend of the family.
Please download the Parental Travel Consent form and return this to us with your application form.
We ask the parents/guardians of students aged 16 or 17 studying at CSL to complete a Parental Consent Form for their child. This includes curfew times and we ask you to keep within our guidelines when deciding these. This form must be sent at the time of booking. Please note – we cannot issue enrolment documents until we have received this form.
CSL has a child safeguarding policy in place for the safeguarding of students under 18 years of age studying with us and a designated Child Protection Officer.
